Irena Sendler, a Polish social worker credited with rescuing 2,500 Jewish, mostly children, from the Nazis during the Holocaust. She died in Warsaw May 12, 2008 at the age of 98, the LOS ANGELES TIMES reported on May 13.
Megan Felt, one of the authors of the play on which the 1933 movie "Schindler's List" was based, said Monday "the lesson Sendler taught them was that "one person can make a difference."
