CHINA: Qingdao elderly care nurses extend range of services

. BEIJING, China / The Global Times / Society / April 9, 2010 Nurses at more than 30 hospitals in the eastern Chinese city of Qingdao are extending their responsibilities to patient care. Nurses now serve patients three meals a day, as well as administer medicine and lead exercise sessions as part of the city's new patient care project, said Meng Xianzhou, deputy director of the city's health bureau.
