The number of people aged 60 and above was 6.5 million in 2005
and is predicted to rise to 31.3 million by 2050.

Elderly couples usually walk around before taking rest in a
quiet corner of Hoan Kiem Lake. An ageing population is expected in
Vietnam in the years to come, according to UN projections.

Mr Hong and his wife say their combined pensions just meet their
daily needs. Pensions still rise every year, but some economists
say pension policy needs to be reformed or else the fund run out
