United Nations Celebrates Day of Older Persons 2010. Courtesy: Global Action on Aging
Mr. Jorge Martín Arturo Argüello, Ambassador, Permanent Representative, Permanent Mission of Argentina to the United Nations gave the closing keynote address at the United Nations on October 7, on occasion of 20th Annual Observance of the International Day of Older Persons.
Mr. Jorge Argüello called for a Human Rights instrument for older persons before more than 300 persons, who included trade unionists, religious groups, scholars and other aging experts and many, many older persons from across the US. The crowd, mostly from the US, loudly cheered him as he concluded his speech.
